Try A Little Kindness

I was out running along Mullett Lake this morning… listening to the lake clap against the shore with Loons’s singing off the in distance (something I have come to cherish). I was so moved and blessed… I couldn’t help be thankful.

In the midst of that feeling… I found myself thinking about an image I saw of a man on a bridge… he seemed so desperate and alone. I also thought of my mother in law and many like her… aging and alone. Thankfully we’re now here to help and assist her, but there are countless aging folks out there without help.

I also found myself thinking about our world in general… so selfish, so jaded… vengeful, and hateful to one another. We’ve lost our ability to love and care for one another. It’s been bugging me all day. So… I wrote a song…

Try a Little Kindness

There’s a man on a bridge
Head in his hands
Looks like he’s had a rough day
People walk by
Without a glance
And not a word to say

But this could be the day…

Try a little kindness
Be compassionate
Let love lead the way
Try a little kindness
Be compassionate
Let love lead the way
Be a helping hand today

There’s a lady at home
Scared and all alone
Her family have gone away
The neighbors all know
But they take care for their own
And choose to walk away

But this could be the day…

Try a little kindness
Be compassionate
Let love lead the way
Try a little kindness
Be compassionate
Let love lead the way
And be a helping hand today
